Derivation of the formula for the deflection of the truss with additional horizontal struts

The derivation of the dependence of the deflection of a planart statically determinate truss on the number of panels under the load of force in the middle of the span is given. To solve this problem, we use the method of induction and the system of symbolic mathematics Maple. We compose and solve recurrent equations for the coefficients of the formula obtained in solving a sequence of problems on the deflection of a truss with a different number of panels. The forces in the rods are found by the method of cutting out the knots, the displacement by the Maxwell-Mora formula. It is assumed that the rigidity of all rods is the same, and the supports are not deformable.
